Title: Mask I
Year
Created: 2004
Medium: Painting - Oil on stretched canvas
Width: 360 mm
Height: 250 mm
Price: £ 83 (Original)
Description:
The mask is painted in semi transparent gold paint, very slightly highlighted to emphasis light, with mask colour totally omitted to emphasise shade, over an abstract black and white background which was painted with a knife, thus creating a very contemporary feel overall.
It's only a small painting, but it produces a dramatic eye catching effect.
"Who knows what true loneliness is -- not the conventional word but the naked terror? To the lonely themselves it wears a mask. The most miserable outcast hugs some memory or some illusion."
