Description:

Egyptian Pharaoh Amenhotep III would have appreciated the bellydance of beautiful Sun Court Dancer Myryka, winner of the 2006 Bellydancer of the Universe competition, as she dances in the Sun Court of his ancient Thebes (Modern day Luxor) Temple. The night sky features the Libra constellation. Produced in cooperation with belly dancer Myrka and photographer Ed Flores (Thanks Myryka and Ed).

Both the belly dancer and the background are painted entirely with a knife. A high level of contrast is provided and the colours made extremely rich, bold and lustrous, thus creating a very contemporary feel overall.

It's a very large, very dramatic, emotive, moody and atmospheric figurative belly dance painting in an Arabic setting that would not look out of place as a feature in a lounge, study, office, music room, conservatory, bedroom, hall, landing or similar room and be a focal point to be proud of.

Contact myself for more information about this beautiful work of art, or if you would like to purchase a print. Obviously, the quality of the original painting and prints is much better than displayed here, though if you wish to make a closer inspection, please let me know of any specific area you're interested in and I'll e mail a higher resolution image to you.
