In General
The image will be printed as large as possible within the media size without cropping. If a specific image size and bleed is required, please mention this whilst ordering.
Ensure that the image size required fits within the media size for both the length and the width.
Both canvas and paper prints are suitable for:

Adding metal leaf, though canvas tends to work best, especially when sealed to prevent tarnishing and oxidisation

Dry mounting on MDF board and Aluminium Composite Panel, then trimming to remove the image bleed as required. The minimum recommended bleed is 3mm.
Media
We stock four types of media:

Paper : Colourbyte - 280 gsm smooth white archival quality cotton rag
-
Paper : Hahnemuhle German Etching - 310gsm textured white archival quality cotton rag
-
Paper : Epson - 300 gsm smooth white archival quality cotton rag
-
Canvas : Epson - 350 gsm premium satin
Any other media is available for quantity orders (minimum order is 20 prints of the same size.
Paper Prints

For sizes from A4 to A2, standard cut sheet media is used.

For sizes above A2 size, roll feed media is used.
-
Are suitable for mounting and framing behind glass.
Canvas Prints

Images with a 5cm border are suitable for stretching on bars and the image is extended into the border where possible to facilitate a ‘gallery wrap’ where the image also covers the sides.
Hand-Embellished Canvas Prints
As an option for your canvas print, we offer hand-embellishing service where each print is individually hand embellished using a course haired brush and acrylic to replicate an original with deep textures, then acrylic varnished for resilience. The surface is resilient and waterproof hence glazing is not required and may be dusted and wiped clean as admirers will definitely touch the surface! A gloss finish is standard though a satin or matt finish is available at no additional cost.
Framing, Laminating and Mounting
We have a variety of options if you wish to frame, laminate or mount your print for protection.
Basic Prints
In General
Stretched Canvas prints are suitable for hanging either unframed, or framed in a modern tray frame or traditional frame. Following stretching, the canvas is spray varnished for resilience using satin varnish. Matt or gloss varnish are also available at no additional cost.
Stretcher Bars
We offer three types of stretcher bars:

Gallery Bars – 44mm wide x 44mm deep, which are most suited to hanging unframed and are typically termed ‘Box Canvas’ Prints

Premium Bars – 45mm wide x 20mm deep, which may be hung either unframed, framed in a tray or regular frame and are most suited to larger formats

Standard Bars – 35mm wide x 19mm deep, which may be hung either unframed, framed in a tray or regular frame and are most suited to smaller formats
For unframed stretched canvas

As a default, the artwork image is extended around the sides where possible to facilitate a ‘gallery wrap format’ where the image also covers the sides. However, if a plain colour is preferred, you can simply mention this when you upload the image.

Adjustable hangers and protection bumpers are fitted to the rear to facilitate flush mounting against the wall. An alternative of double D-rings and hanging string are also available at no additional cost.

Stretched Canvas Prints
In General
Dry-Mounted Prints are bonded onto board at high temperature in a vacuum hot press to ensure permanent adhesion, extra rigidity and support. They are suitable for hanging either unframed, or framed in a modern panel tray frame or traditional frame.
Mounting Boards
We offer four types of board

3mm MDF, which are most suited to framing in either a panel tray or traditional frame

6mm MDF, which are most suited to framing in a panel tray frame at larger sizes and where extra rigidity is required
-
12mm MDF, which are most suited to hanging unframed at larger sizes and where extra rigidity is required
-
3mm Aluminium Composite Panel (ACP), which are waterproof hence suitable for damp or wet locations such as bathrooms, kitchens and swimming pools, and most suited to hanging:

Unframed on steel wall fixing plates or a rear aluminium subframe for a floating effect

Framed in an aluminium panel tray frame
-
The sides of the board may be coloured in a single colour pigmented ink or acrylic paint if required.

Resin-Coated Option
For the resin-coated prints, the prints are first dry mounted on either 3mm ACP or 6mm MDF, then coated in a clear, non-aging, extremely resilient resin having a high gloss 'mirror like' finish.
The surface is resilient and waterproof hence glazing is not required and may be dusted and wiped clean.

As a standard, our metal prints are supplied with a sub frame, ready to hang.
Aluminium 'floating' frame is available in black, white or silver aluminium. Wooden frames also available.
