In this session, you will learn how to paint a Bluebell Wood. Each participant will be guided step-by-step by artist, Jean Kidwell, who will help them to create their own stunning woodland scene, full of life. By the end of the session, you will come away with a beautiful painting to take home and be proud of.

This class is suitable for adults. No requirements for prior experience, this class is suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners to budding artists and hobbyists.

About the Instructor - Jean Kidwell BA

"Art has always been a big part of my life!  I am a practising Artist and Art tutor, teaching adult classes locally, and have run an informal evening Art group since 2012. I graduated from Gray’s School of Art in Aberdeen in 1983 and went on to work in marketing, then teaching. I have twenty two years experience in Early Years teaching, including Special Educational Needs, and involving the use of Creative Art to help develop confidence and expressive individuality.

I love using mixed media in my work, but especially ink pens, watercolour and resists. I take my inspiration from Nature – particularly in trees and old ruined buildings that have been ‘reclaimed’ by natural foliage.

I passionately believe that Art is for everyone, and am enthusiastic in assisting people explore, develop, and build on their own creativity, in a relaxed, fun, and friendly atmosphere."

On a General Note:

Designed as an introduction to creative skills such as different painting techniques, our classes are relaxed and enjoyable offering a chance to learn a new skill, meet new people and have fun, all in a high end art gallery!

The duration of each class is 2 hours, during which refreshments will be available.

During each class you will receive step by step guidance by an established artist who will give a live demonstration and help you create your own artwork which you can then take home. All materials are included and we even do the cleaning up!

Ideal as a group activity with friends, for individuals looking to meet like-minded people or as a team building exercise for work colleagues, our classes are held in our gallery which offers a contemporary, stylish setting with comfortable seating for up to 12 people.

In all our events, there is no prerequisite for prior experience. Each class is suitable for everyone, from absolute beginners to budding artists and hobbyists.

Private Events are available for groups of between 8 and 12 people in our gallery. We also conduct private events in corporate venues with no limit on numbers. Choose any artwork from our extensive library here Events Gallery
