Jack Durling
Ceramicist

Jack Durling is a Brighton based artist who is inspired by the phenomena of the natural world creating bespoke ceramic sculptures that are celebratory of animal species. Focusing on natural behaviours and animal congregation, his work is notable for decorative embellishment.
Lustres and porcelain details upon ceramic forms are used to create a visual language that subtly highlights environmental and conservation messages. His work is hand built and informed through illustration that is realised in clay and distinct for his unique style.
He tutors at West Dean College Art Conservation Society a couple of times a year and has a permanent public sculpture in his hometown Maidstone, Shared Memories Mural, Mote Park, 2023.
