Gustaav Klimt's Golden Tears
Rescued from a garage, waiting to be thrown away, the inspiration to create Gustaav Klimt's Golden Tears evolved. The pieces, made from pine, came as a matching pair and the vision to create a mirror image on the set began.
Golden Tears offers a beautiful combination of neutrals and golds to give an element of impact. The piece has been stripped of its original finish, and a neutral tone of Cathedral Taupe, by the professional wood paint company Fusion, applied. This delivers a beautiful neutral shade for the decoupaged imagery to pop. Coupled with an ombre paint finish, stencilling and gold leafing the combination compliments itself beautifully. Each piece is finished with robust varnish to protect, making these fantastically useuable.
The inner drawers and sides have not been forgotten too, with a splash of coordinating red inside, and the sides decoupaged with a marble finish. A stunning statement set, perfect for any lover of Klimt.
